

SESSION INFO: The ISSofBC Digital Literacy Curriculum Resource (DLCR) is a fully developed package of lessons, visuals and practice activities to teach basic computer skills for navigating a digital environment. Comprehensive Digital Skills Tutor Training funded through Community Living BC allows service provider staff and other support persons to gain access and understand how to use the DLCR materials with individuals and self-advocates. Come out to this presentation to learn more about the FREE Digital Skills Tutor Training being offered in January and February 2022 and how you can register to be a Tutor! Spaces in Digital Skills Tutor Training are limited in each CLBC provincial region – register as soon as you can to hold your place!

Lisa Herrera, MA, has a master’s in Educational Administration from UBC and has been the Project Lead on several ISSofBC curriculum projects including the federally-funded Digital Literacy Curriculum Resource and the provincially-funded Digital Literacy Project for CLBC. The Lead Instructional Coordinator for ISSofBC LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) for over a decade, Lisa began her career by teaching English to adults in 1993, and in 2013 also became a national coach for Portfolio-Based Language Assessment in the LINC program. Lisa regularly presents webinars, in-person conferences, and PD events for administrators and teachers.
