

Join Chelsea Jelic from POPARD, on January 24th for Effective Collaboration Between Families/Caregivers and School Staff at 1:00 pm
Families have the opportunity to work with their child’s school team in a variety of ways throughout the school year. This session will review:
• Connections between the roles, rights and responsibilities of teaching staff, administrators, and parents.
• Relevant policies and procedures that guide programming and support in the school environment.
• Benefits of effective home-school collaboration and how to work towards solutions.
• Information on advocacy steps and supports.

Chelsea Jelic is part of the Family-School Liaison team at POPARD. She is a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist and has a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Applied Behaviour Analysis (Autism). Her areas of interest include social communication, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and inclusive education. She is inspired by helping autistic children and youth achieve their full potential by being meaningfully included in their school community.
