What are Sibshops?
SESSION INFO: Sibshops provide opportunities for brothers and sisters of children with special health and developmental needs to obtain peer support and education within a recreational context. These groups will be lively sessions that celebrate many experiences of siblings, including common joys, concerns, learning how others handle similar sibling situations, obtaining peer support and education. The sessions will be made up of a variety of activities and games focused on the shared experience of having a brother or sister with special needs.
Who are Sibshops for?
Sibshops are for 8 to 13 year olds who have a sibling with any kind of special health and developmental needs.
Who runs Sibshops?
Sibshops are run by certified facilitators who have an understanding of the impact a child’s challenges can have on brothers and sisters. Equally important, the facilitators have great kid skills!
When and Where do Sibshops run?
They will occur on the second Monday of the month from 4-5pm, except October ( September 12, October 3,November 14, December 12)
How much do Sibshops cost?
Thanks to our partnership with Family Support Institute of BC, Sibshops is being offered free to participants.
