Geoffrey White has 25+ years of expertise in Will, Estate and Trust matters. He assists clients both at as counsel with Clark Wilson LLP in downtown Vancouver and at a “heritage” office in Kelowna. He is recognized by “Best Lawyers in Canada” for his work in estate law.
In addition to his active estate law practice, in which Geoff has advised hundreds of families about planning for the complexities of disability law, he is also an editor of BC’s “Probate & Estate Administration Practice Manual” for lawyers, which is acknowledged as the primary source for all estate matters in the province. Geoff has litigated estate and trust matters at all levels of court including the BC Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada. These matters include representing the Disability Alliance of BC at the Supreme Court of Canada in 2018 – that case confirmed the status of discretionary trusts as a protected method of providing an inheritance (or receiving a settlement) for person who has a disability.
Geoff has also served as the chair of: the BC Law Foundation, the national Canadian Bar Association – Elder Law, the Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners, and various Estate Planning Societies.
