DESCRIPTION:SESSION INFO: « Back to all events \n\nRegistrants will receive a Zoom link to attend the webinar live\, as well as a private link to a recording of the webinar to watch if they cannot join in at the scheduled time.\nHow do we build inclusive environments for all young people to feel a sense of belonging? \nExpert educator and researcher\, Shelley Moore\, will share her own story of inclusion and how her understanding of belonging has deepened and evolved over time. Bringing an inclusive lens to fostering social emotional learning means being mindful of the different environments\, contexts\, and histories that children inhabit and bring to their places of learning\, be they at home\, in nature\, or in schools. Through stories\, humour\, research\, and practical ideas\, we will learn from Shelley about neurodiversity\, disability\, and LGBTQ2+\, and how to effectively build on every child’s strengths and uniquenesses. \nThis webinar is for educators\, parents\, caregivers and service providers interested in supporting children’s development.  \n\n\n\nShelley Moore\nOriginally from Edmonton\, and now based in Vancouver\, British Columbia\, Shelley Moore is a highly sought-after teacher\, researcher\, speaker and storyteller and has worked with school districts and community organizations around the world\, in supporting and promoting equity for all learners. Her first book entitled\, “One Without the Other” was released in July 2016 to follow up her TEDx talk. Shelley completed an undergraduate degree in Special Education at the University of Alberta\, her masters at Simon Fraser University\, and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia. \nFiona Douglas-Crampton (President & CEO\, Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education) will moderate this special-event webinar. \n\n  \nCLICK TO REGISTER
