DESCRIPTION:SESSION INFO: « Back to all events \nGay\, bisexual\, transgender and queer guys with cognitive disabilities get an after-hours tour of Health Initiative for Men’s Davie St. Clinic and hear about their services. \nWe’ll meet outside the front door of HIM’s Davie St. offices. We’ll tour their sexual health clinic. We’ll ask questions about HIM’s social\, mental\, and physical health programs for gay & bisexual men. We’ll have some dinner afterwards at a nearby restaurant and discuss the tour. \nYou’ll meet your host in Vancouver\, British Columbia! The exact address will be sent to you when the host confirms the experience! \n  \nJOIN THE EXPERIENCE\n  \nReal Talk is a sexual health initiative. We want to make it less awkward for folks to talk to the people who support them about things like dating\, love\, relationships\, and sex. Most of us are Certified Sexual Health Educators. Our events are chill\, relaxed\, supportive places where people can try out having these kinds of conversations.

Authors Keiko Honda\, Rachelle Rasolofo-Czerwinki\, and Jennie Chantal Duguay will each read from their work and take questions. \nACCESS EVENT HERE \n  \nKeiko Honda is a scientist\, writer\, community organizer and painter. She holds a PhD in international community health from New York University\, but when she suddenly contracted a rare autoimmune disease that confined her to a wheelchair for life\, she had to leave her career in research at Columbia University in New York. She is the author of Accidental Blooms (Caitlin Press\, 2023). \nJennie Chantal Duguay’s poetry and creative non-fiction has appeared in ARC\, PRISM\, Vallum\, Contemporary Verse 2\, Plenitude\, The Capilano Review\, the anthology Against Death and more. Jennie lives in Vancouver on land unceded by the Tsleil-Waututh\, Skxwú7mesh\, and Musqueam. Jennie writes towards life\, towards being alive and living in a body disabled by chronic pain\, the gender binary\, and ableism. \nRachelle Rasolofo-Czerwinski was born in Madagascar\, partly raised in France\, married a German-Canadian and followed his international career with the United Nations through six countries over 20 years. They have two sons who live and live in Vancouver\, British Columbia.  She is the author of The Life That’s Chosen Me.

We can learn to be our most mature selves\, and to become more socially & emotionally aware.  We may need to expand our opportunities for meeting people\, to participate in activities that are new to us\, to nurture curiosity about others\, and to demonstrate flexibility around shared activities. This only makes sense if doing so aligns with our goals\, while preserving our mental & physical well-being. \nBeginning is the first step! DESCRIPTION:SESSION INFO: « Back to all events \nJoin us for an exclusive screening of the short film Chicken starring Leo Award winning actor Aaron Waddingham\, who happens to have Down syndrome. Following the film\, take part in a live Q&A with Aaron and Lucy McNulty\, writer\, director\, and co-star of Chicken. \nI am an award-winning actor. I won a Leo Award for Best Male Performance for my role in the short film Chicken. I also appeared in a Nintendo commercial and I work as a hype man for the Vancouver Canucks. \nThis event will include a 14-minute film screening followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. You will be able to submit your own questions for Aaron and Lucy online. \n  \nJOIN THE EXPERIENCE
