DESCRIPTION:SESSION INFO: « Back to all events \nMurals Without Walls Workshop Registration NOW OPEN!\nExpansive\, playful and low-barrier art-making in community – from wherever you can join us! \nWHAT & WHO?\nFor the second year\, we are thrilled to present Murals Without Walls! A unique program that involves 3 FREE digital low-barrier process-based creative art making workshops which prioritize Mad\, D/deaf\, and Disabled participants who are artists – whether you are a professional artist or are just starting to dabble in art making! \nFollowing the studio workshops\, Vancouver Area registrants will be invited to apply to a professional jury for the opportunity to create a portable mural featured in this year’s Vancouver Mural Festival in August 2022. \nThree guided digital workshops facilitated by Kay Slater\, are designed to explore The Self\, encouraging artists to expand their unique creative process\, supported by demonstrations\, conversation and community. \nRegistration includes a kit of supplies for Vancouver Area registrants (maximum 30 kits available); participants are also encouraged to incorporate materials readily available at home. \nWHEN & WHERE?\nWorkshops will run Wednesday May 25\, Thursday May 26 and Friday May 27 with the choice of time:\nSession One : 5:00PM – 630PM\nSession Two : 7:00PM- 830PM \nLive workshops will be hosted digitally on Curiko (www.curiko.ca) with auto-captions in English\, with ASL interpretation and auto-transcripts available via Otter and CART services. \nRegistrants will receive a link to join the workshops and how-to videos and transcripts of workshop content for 24/7 access\, on your own schedule. \nREGISTRATION DEADLINE: MAY 15\, 2022 \nNOTE: Registrants who participated in 2021 are welcome to attend the workshops and apply for the mural creation opportunity\, however if you received an art supply kit you will not be eligible to receive one this year. \n  \nTo Register Click HERE\nFor More Details Visit: www.kickstartdisability.ca/mww22

This workshop will guide you through tips and techniques for working with your intuition while making art. The discussions and exercises are designed to connect you with your inner voice and learn to overcome doubt. Join this workshop for a fun and engaging journey connecting with your creative intuition. \nLead by Laura Rechwan\, who has many years of experience as a professional artist\, instructor\, and arts administrator. How do abstract artists do it? What is the difference between abstract art\, and a plain mess? How do we guide the eye\, evoke emotion\, and generate curiosity with imagery that barely tells of a line? \nIn Midori’s workshop\, participants will learn things like the rule of three\, balancing soft and hard lines\, guiding the eye\, and creative spatter\, and how to apply these to abstract art. \nSupplies Needed: any basic painting surfaces and supplies
