SUMMARY:Talking With Your Doctor
DESCRIPTION:Come away from this session with tips to encourage collaboration and improve communication with your doctor(s) and other healthcare professionals. \nPeer facilitators lead this 1.5 hour interactive workshop to empower patients to be active participants in their health care and communicate more effectively with our doctor(s) and other health care professionals. Using the PACE framework\, we explore common challenges with doctor-patient interactions and learn techniques on how to improve them. \nLearn how to:\n\nBe prepared for your visit\nState your concerns clearly and honestly\nProvide a complete description of your condition\nAsk questions about your condition and its treatment\nExpress problems with prescribed treatments\n\nTalking With Your Doctor was created by Donald J. Cegala and modified\, with permission\, for use by projects in cooperation with Patient & Community Partnership for Education\, UBC Health. \nTo help ensure participant safety\, engagement\, and group privacy\, we ask that all attendees keep their cameras on during workshop sessions. If you have accessibility needs or other concerns\, please contact us in advance to discuss accommodations. \nRegistration with valid email address is required to receive the Zoom link information. Contact us if you do not receive a confirmation email with Zoom link after registering. \nIf you require a hard copy of the workshop materials\, please contact us before the session begins and with enough time for delivery by Canada Post.
