SUMMARY:Little Shop of Horrors RELAXED
DESCRIPTION:Theatre NorthWest’s first relaxed performance of the season is Little Shop of Horrors by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken on Saturday\, September 28 at 2pm! \n\nTickets are only $10 (and caregivers attend for free)\, so get yours while you can!\nPlease note that we are using assigned seating for relaxed performances this season. That means people must choose their seats at the time of purchase. When they arrive for the performance\, they must sit in the seats listed on their tickets.\nOur wheelchair-accessible seating section includes all seats in the front row (also called row A). This section has limited capacity and sells out quickly.\nWe understand that a sold-out wheelchair-accessible section may prevent some of your members from attending the relaxed performance. Furthermore\, some of your members may prefer to attend a regular performance rather than a relaxed/adaptive one. In those cases\, we highly recommend that people purchase a wheelchair-accessible seat for a regular performance and use the discount code 25off at the time of purchase. This code will take $25 off the cost of a regular ticket. We hope this helps make our shows more accessible to more people.\n\n \nCLICK HERE FOR TICKETS\n\n\nPlay Description for Little Shop of Horrors\nStep into a world where the quirky meets the carnivorous in our thrilling production of Little Shop of Horrors. Join Seymour\, a lovable florist with big dreams\, as he discovers a mysterious\, man-eating plant that changes his life forever. Packed with toe-tapping tunes\, dark humor\, and a dash of campy horror\, this cult-classic musical promises an unforgettable night of laughter and suspense. Don’t miss the chance to feed your theatrical appetite with Theatre Northwest’s rendition of this Broadway classic!\n \nContent Warning\nPlease be advised that this production contains harmful stereotypes\, portrayals of domestic abuse\, mentions of poverty\, death\, violence\, animal abuse\, and outdated language that may be offensive or upsetting to some viewers.\n\nSensory Notes for the Relaxed Performance\nStrobe lighting effects will be removed\n\nThe sound level will be slightly lowered\nThere will be lots of singing\nThere will be some shouting and yelling\nThere is a lot of violence in this play (both discussed and acted-out). Some of it is campy/not serious and played for laughs\, such as when a giant puppet plant will “eats” an actor. Other depictions of violence are not as light-hearted\, such as when the dentist character grabs\, picks up\, and hurts the character named Audrey.\nThe dentist character will suffocate and die while wearing a special gas mask during act one. This may be upsetting to some people. The actor playing the dentist will demonstrate the gas mask during the pre-show speech and highlight how it’s not real\, contains no gas\, and cannot hurt him.\n\n\nDate\, Time\, and When to Arrive\nSaturday\, September 28  \n1pm – Patrons can arrive at the theatre as early as 1:00pm. Please do not arrive any earlier than that\, as we will not be ready to receive patrons.\n1:30pm – Patrons can begin taking their seats in the audience at this time. Patrons must sit in the seat listed on their ticket.\n2pm – Patrons must be in their seats by this time. The pre-show chat and actor introductions will begin.\n~2:10pm – Play begins\nThis play runs for 100 minutes and will include a 20 minute intermission.\n \nMore Information\n\nAttached is a document that outlines the characteristics of relaxed performances at Theatre NorthWest.
