Join Hives for Humanity to learn from Gitxsan Plant Teacher Leona Brown all about Fireweed Bloom flowers.
We will be there with the plants and bees – spring weeding, transplanting and dreaming up plans for the fall planting season. This would be a great time to learn about the Il Centro garden project, and ways to be part of this beautiful community gardening space in the future. Come dig in the dirt with us!
What to Bring: Bring your curiosity, and any gardening tools you may have! Available seating only in the form of fallen Willow trunks so if folks need proper chairs it would be great if they could bring their own for now.
The garden is behind the basketball court at the farthest parking lot which is gravel. The entrance to this lot has a lot of bumpy pot holes The area is grassy and lightly sloped. There is no paved areas in the garden.
Being mindful of honeybees – we have hives in a fenced in area right in the gardens. It is allergy season – lots of pollen!
