The Family Support Institute (FSI), in partnership with Community Living B.C. (CLBC), has compiled stories for a book project. Brothers and sisters often share a unique bond, especially in families where a loved one has a developmental disability. Both FSI and CLBC continue to be inspired by stories of siblings, the impact they have on one another, their family and in community.
Brothers and sisters are often key voices in advocacy, community access, relationships and storytelling in terms of their sibling’s strengths and assets. Through photos and stories, this resource celebrates and highlights how these relationships create more inclusive and safer communities for everyone.
A print version is also available for $15 per copy (plus shipping and handling) – for more information or to order, please contact the FSI office or email .

Did you have a great experience with FSI? Please let us know!
As a provincial organization FSI acknowledges that our work spans across all of the traditional, ancestral, and unceded Indigenous territories in BC. Therefore, we respectfully honour all First Nations, Inuit and Métis people, as well as their ancestors, who have lived here and cared for these lands. It is with gratitude that we can live, learn and do our work in the province now known as British Columbia.
