What is Individualized Funding with CLBC?

When you receive CLBC funding, you have 2 choices: Global Funded Community Inclusion Programs and Individualized Funding (IF)

Global Funded Community Inclusion Programs

CLBC sends the money to a contracted agency and they run programs such as day activities, employment training, or hire support workers. The individual stays with that particular program/agency.

Individualized Funding (IF)

  • With Individualized Funding, you can manage your support your way. You can hire staff yourself or work with a provider to help you hire and pay staff.
  • You serve as the employer or a person who is hiring a contract employee – this is what is called Direct Funding.
  • There are tax reporting and accounting for the funds responsibilities on your end
  • You can alternatively choose Host Agency Funding. A Host Agency manages the money you get from CLBC for you and helps you set up and manage the supports you need.

PRO TIP

Does the task of handling Payroll, Revenue Canada, etc seem overwhelming and stopping you from considering IF? The IFRC, a non-profit organization can handle all of that for you!
