Rooted in Strength: Uplifting Women of Colour

November 13 2025 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Rooted in Strength champions women, girls, non-binary and gender-minority caregivers of colour supporting loved ones with disabilities. The task of caregiving commonly falls on the shoulders of this steadfast population. Yet, so often our needs are dismissed due to race, gender, or both.

This is a culturally affirming safe space where your voice truly matters, your opinions and lived experiences are recognized, and you are seen and respected. Here, you are among people who understand your struggles and celebrate your successes. Newcomers and immigrants are welcome. This Family Hangout is facilitated by a FSI Resource Parent who is a BIPOC mom of a child with a disability, dedicated to uplifting and celebrating other BIPOC women and gender minorities.
