Award Categories
Family Support Institute Volunteer (Resource Parent/Peer)
A member of FSI’s volunteer Resource Parent/Peer (RP) network who has shown an enduring commitment to supporting people and families with disabilities.
Community Member
A person in community who demonstrates unwavering dedication to supporting people and families with disabilities, showing an understanding and commitment that makes them stand out and be heard.
Person with Lived Experience (Self-Advocate)
A person with disabilities who has a strong voice in the community and works hard to bring visibility, inclusion and representation for all people with disabilities.
Corporation
A big or small business that sees and supports those with disabilities, ensuring that opportunities to succeed are open to everyone.
Non Profit Organization
An organization who demonstrates unwavering dedication to shedding light on the challenges and celebrating the victories of people and families with disabilities.
Indigenous Advocate
A First Nations, Métis, or Inuit leader who goes above and beyond to advance the rights, dignity and inclusion of people with disabilities within their community or Nation.
Indigenous Ally
A person or group who exemplifies allyship through a deep awareness of intersectional concerns, respectful collaboration with Indigenous communities or Nations, and commitment to fulfilling Truth and Reconciliation and the 94 Calls to Action.
Champion of Diversity, Equity & Social Justice
A person or group who demonstrates outstanding commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by supporting people and families with disabilities who face challenges related to multicultural and multi-systemic barriers.
